Q: How long does the installation of carpet / flooring generally take? How about other items?

A: Although every coach avails us to different circumstances, most coaches take about 2-4 days for carpet installations and 3-5 days for carpet and hard surface installations. Our turn-around time for any installation is based on the manufacturers' availability of the products chosen, but for those drawing from our stock, the estimates above are generally very accurate. In terms of other items, stocked products will generally avail us to a timely turn-around without delay, while any custom ordered materials span a range of next day ready to 3 weeks out. Once your materials have been chosen in our store, we will be sure to advise you which items will be more readily available and which ones will not.

Q: What kind of floors do you recommend in a coach?

A: Every coach is unique to the individuals that utilize it, but as a general rule, carpet that is lower profile and tightly woven is often the best choice in terms of wear and overall durability. Hard surfaces are also a great option for RV owners, as they avail you to less wear patterns over longer periods of time. Although slide outs can often force us to alter the design of desired hard surface floors, we will avail you to the best options available based on the dynamics of your coach. Typically, we recommend lower weight, vinyl-based products or laminate floors for your hard surface needs.

Q: Can the work still be done if I have slideouts?

A: Definitely. We can work around you slideouts without issue. Typically, most slideouts would require carpet on top of the slideout, and either carpet or a hard surface floor underneath the slideout when it is brought in. Because we do not alter the height of your slideout in any way during the installation, our ability to install a hard surface floor is limited to the height restrictions availed to us by your brand of coach.

Q: Do you offer custom sized mattresses?

A: We offer every size mattress you can imagine in a variety of constructions and thicknesses. Our mattresses are custom made to fit your needs, and most can be selected, built, and installed in 3-5 days.

Q: How do I get an estimated cost for the work I need done?

A: Because every coach is different and all of our work is customized to suit your needs, you should give us a call and explain what you have in mind for us to give you a ballpark cost. Our toll-free number is 800-670-7287. To truly establish your price, we would need to see you coach and measure the areas you would want work to be performed.

Q: How far in advance should I make reservations to have my work done?

A: We are generally booked two to three weeks in advance, although we do have opening pop up on occasion. Please call us in plenty of time to make sure we can reserve the dates you are interested in coming in.

Q: How do I reserve an installation date I want?

A: On average, our installation calendar is booked out about 3 weeks in advance. As a result, we ask that you provide us with a deposit about a month prior to your suspected arrival either by credit card, in person or over the phone, or by sending a check via U.S. Mail to 8114 Orangethorpe Avenue, Buena Park, CA 90621. This will avail us to reserve a spot on our busy schedule for you amidst the scheduled time you will be in town. Once a scheduled date has been set, one of our sales managers will meet you at our warehouse facility in Buena Park upon your arrival, so that we may provide you a specific quote based on the selections you make at our store. When scheduling for your installation date, note that we generally take a new coach on Monday morning in an effort to provide our installers with the time necessary for you to be back on the road by weeks end.

Q: Can I stay in my coach while it is being worked on?

A: Because of the nature of our installation, the coach is literally cleared out and stripped of the old floors, furniture, mattresses, and any other items standing in the way of our work, and thus, we recommend that you seek a place to stay while our work is being performed. With our facility just down the street from Knott's Berry Farm and Disneyland Resort, there are plenty of nice hotels and resorts ready to serve your needs.

Q: What is there to do and see while our coach is being worked on?

A: For those planning on vacationing while their coach is being worked on, Southern California offers an endless array of tourist-driven hot spots for you to enjoy while you are waiting for your coach’s installation to be finished. With beautiful beaches (Newport, Laguna, Huntington, etc.), world-famous theme parks (Disneyland Resort, Knott’s Berry Farm, etc.), awe-inspiring entertainment venues (Angels Stadium of Anaheim, the Honda Center, Staples Center, Hollywood Bowl, Dodger Stadium, etc.) grand shopping centers (South Coast Plaza, Fashion Island, Irvine Spectrum, etc.), historic museums and famous places (Richard Nixon’s Birthplace & the Richard Nixon Presidential Library & Museum, the Getty Museum, Hollywood Walk of Fame, etc.), and much, much more, Orange County and the greater Los Angeles area boast countless opportunities for you and your family to enjoy while your coach is being worked on at Route 66 RV!

Q: Why is Pat's RV Carpet & Flooring now known as ROUTE 66 RV?

A: Since 1976, Pat's RV Carpet & Flooring's reputation grew as the authority for RV flooring. Over the years, the demand for additional product needs prompted our family owned and operated business to expand into broader products than just flooring. In 2009, we started Route 66 RV in an effort to avail our customers to a wider range of products and services than we had ever offered before. Considering we must remove and replace furniture and mattresses in the midst of our flooring installations anyway, the opportunity to offer custom furniture and mattresses seamed like a natural fit. Although we like the idea of making our store a "one-stop shop," especially for our customers from out of the area, we only want to offer products we know and trust, so that quality remains as high as ever. Although our name has changed, our commitment to service, quality, and excellence in what we do and what we offer remains the same.
